Vehicles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Police stated they were notified by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the liquid was likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the incident made him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
